Interview preparation after a long interview break
if you're working professional in a company for a long time, and now you are thinking to change jobs but don't know how to start, this is something I am going to discuss here.
Of where, what, and how to start the interview preparation after a long interview break. We always get confused with the topic and company requirements, and we have a lot of questions.
Here I will talk about Android Interview preparation and likewise some general preparation as well.
Preparing for interviews After a long time needs some focused effort and a review of relevant skills and knowledge.
Here is some point which can be considered —
Review Resume: go through your own resume and write all the topics that you need to polish again. In Android, many things are changing within a week, so it's always a good practice to go through all the topics which you worked on in the past, and now you need to adopt new changes.
Self Assessment: Begin by evaluating your current skills, knowledge, and experience. Identify the areas where you feel confident and the ones that may require improvement. This self-assessment will help you target your preparation effectively.
Research the industry and job market: the best way to do this is, through LinkedIn, to search the industry you’re targeting and look at the job descriptions and requirements. Take some time to research the current trends, technologies and best practices.
Update your resume and LinkedIn: Revise and update your resume to reflect your latest experiences and achievements. Make sure it highlights your skills and accomplishments relevant to the job you’re applying for. Also, update your LinkedIn profile or any other online professional platforms you use.
Refresh your knowledge: Write all the topics from your above observation and start polishing them. Many times we are more focused on tasks and forgot to learn about the depth (how it's working internally etc.), now it's high time to learn, not for only interviews but for our growth and satisfaction as well.
Gain Confidence: This is important to do anything, my philosophy to gain confidence is extremely easy. Polish the small-small topic which you already know, I know it's boring but do it, and now slowly start learning the topic in which you have a bit of idea, but not in depth.
Start the level of complexity day by day, but slowly.
Practice technical skills: Create a project on GitHub and do all the theoretical samples on that project.
Mock interviews: I am not believing much. I feel 1 or 2 rejections are enough for the experienced guy to know where they are lacking.
For freshers, a Mock interview is key (you can take help from friends or family) or you can do it on your own (choose a random question and record your video while answering).
Prepare for common interview questions: Go through the common questions, you can easily find on Google, and practice them.
Stay updated: sync with the new changes in Android. It will really help you a lot while answering. Sometimes it's not needed, which version you worked on if you know the latest improved way of doing things also has a good impact on the interviewer.
Don't feel underconfident, getting a job is easy if you are on right track and right planning, in the end, it will help you a lot, personally and professionally.
Good luck with your job search
